Sovereignty Legal Practitioners, a Nigerian law firm, has threatened to file a class action lawsuit against British Airways over alleged inhumane treatment of Nigerian passengers.
In a letter dated August 30, 2024, the firm accused the airline of deploying faulty and substandard aircraft on Nigerian routes, leading to frequent flight delays and cancellations.Â
The letter highlighted a recent incident on August 29, 2024, where Abuja-bound passengers were disembarked at Heathrow Airport and placed in low-class hotels without a clear departure date.Â

The firm demanded compensation for affected passengers and warned that if British Airways fails to address these issues, they will proceed with legal action.Â
The letter was also sent to various Nigerian government agencies and the British Embassy.
