Zimbabwean Bishop,  Eben Nhiwatiwa of the United Methodist Church was detained by Nigerian Immigration authorities despite having necessary documents.

He arrived in Nigeria on August 21, 2024, for a church election but was taken into custody on August 23, 2024, in Yola, Adamawa State.

After hours of detention, he was transferred to Abuja and is currently held at the Immigration Headquarters.

While the detention appears linked to internal church power struggle, it remains unclear as we will bring more details.

The Nigerian Immigration Service has been contacted for comment, but no official statement has been released.
