South African Airways (SAA) has relaunched service to Sao Paulo, marking its only intercontinental destination.
The airline began flights between Cape Town International Airport and Sao Paulo Guarulhos Airport on October 31 and will operate the route two times-weekly from November 6.
From November 6, SAA will open service between Johannesburg’s Tambo International Airport and GRU, also operating the route twice weekly.
The routes will facilitate export and import opportunities and enhance trade relations between the two countries. SAA’s widebody fleet will facilitate faster movement of goods, including general cargo, pharmaceuticals, and high-value cargo.
The airline has operated over 9,000 flights since relaunching services in 2021, with Brazil being the first country served outside Africa.
