South Africa has introduced streamlined visa measures to enhance travel for Nigerian businesspeople and tourists, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced on Tuesday at the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission in Cape Town.
The new policy includes five-year multiple-entry visas for qualified Nigerian business travelers and allows tourists to apply without submitting their passports. Ramaphosa emphasized the initiatives aim to foster economic collaboration and remove barriers to investment.
Marking 30 years of diplomatic ties, the President praised Nigeria’s role in hosting South African businesses and highlighted South Africa’s reciprocal support for Nigerian enterprises.

The reforms align with South Africa’s broader efforts to improve its business environment and attract investment. Ramaphosa also reaffirmed South Africa’s commitment to advancing the African Union’s Agenda 2063 during the upcoming G20 summit on African soil.
