Amid growing frustration over governance and economic hardship, nationwide protests in Nigeria have reached their third day, disrupting travel across the country.
In Lagos, the blockade of the Lagos-Benin Expressway in Benin has brought interstate bus operations to a halt.
Travelradio visited various bus parks in Ikorodu to gauge the impact.
At the Peace Mass Transit terminal, a driver shared that no buses have left for destinations beyond Benin since the protest began, stranding passengers heading to Edo, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Rivers, Abia, and Imo states.
This has dealt a severe blow to their business. The driver expressed hope that the expressway blockage would be cleared by Monday, allowing travel to resume.
While these protests have caused significant disruption in some regions, Lagos has remained relatively peaceful.
