The naira has weakened for a third consecutive day at the official market, sliding to a one-month low of N1,300 per US dollar.

This is due to dollar liquidity dropping due to investors exiting to safety due to rising geo-political tensions.

The naira closed flat at the black market after an initial gain, triggered by the Central Bank’s dollar sale to BDCs.

A dollar sold for N1,270/$ on the streets on Tuesday evening, causing tight liquidity.
