Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) authorities are deploying e-border solutions in parts of Kebbi state, a north-western state bordering the Niger Republic.

The technology solutions will be installed at its Forward Operating Base (FOB) at Kyengyakwai, Kamba Control Post, Dole Kaina (Land), and Lolo (Marine) Control Posts.

The NIS’s public relations officer, Kenneth Udo, stated that the technology will provide real-time intelligence and surveillance services for the nation’s border. The Comptroller-General of the NIS, Kemi Nanna Nandap, conducted a two-day working visit to Kebbi state to assess the nation’s borders.

Nandap emphasized the service’s readiness to continue deploying advanced technology to safeguard Nigeria’s borders and hinted that the e-border solutions will help checkmate trans-border crimes and related offenses.

Governor Nasir Idris promised to provide vehicles to enhance the NIS’s operational efficiency in Kebbi and assist with the Regional Migration Academy, Tugga.
