An employee of aviation security firm Pathfinder International Limited has been detained at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos for allegedly attempting to send suspected illegal drugs to Accra, Ghana.

The employee approached a customer to assist him in carrying a package during the trip, but the passenger became suspicious and reported the incident, claiming he was being set up for narcotics trafficking.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) management has been alerted to a video on social media showing a passenger slapping and kneeling down on a staff member after attempting to use him to traffic drugs.

The passenger involved was arrested for further questioning by the Crime Investigation and Intelligence Unit of the Aviation Security Services.

The medication with the name ‘NEW AGE GLUCOSAMINE CHONDROITIN SULFATE COMPLEX’ has been taken to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation.
