SHECANIC, a women-led auto mechanic outfit, has launched the Wave The Flag Road Trip, a journey celebrating women, supporting the Ghana Black Stars at the Africa Cup of Nations 2024, and promoting responsible road practices.

The expedition began on January 13 and  traversed a diverse route, connecting communities and fostering unity. The founder, Nana Afua Serwaa Adusei, believes Wave The Flag goes beyond just a road trip, promoting women’s empowerment, leisure travel, and visa restrictions removal.

The journey also emphasized road safety education, partnering with the DVLA and Ghana Police. The entire expedition as broadcasted live on national television, allowed people to experience the excitement, cultural exchange, and road safety advocacy first hand.

SHECANIC’s support for women-led initiatives was exemplified by its support for Afua Asantewaa Owusu Aduonum’s Guinness Book of Records sing-a-thon.
