Tesla’s much-anticipated Giga Train, its first battery-powered train, has launched in Germany.
The train runs between Erkner Station and Tesla Sud, near the company’s Gigafactory southeast of Berlin, offering a free ride for both employees and the public.
With a capacity of 500 passengers, including 120 seats and space for bicycles, it currently operates to transport workers to Tesla’s plant.
The train is projected to serve 4,500 employees in three shifts once a new stop is added.

Tesla aims to reduce carbon emissions by 50 tons annually with this initiative, aligning with its mission of transitioning to renewable energy. NEB plans to convert its fleet to electric by the end of 2024, further promoting greener transportation options.
