Nigeria’s Comptroller General, Kemi Nandap, has unveiled plans to introduce a more user-friendly e-visa application system for short visits, aligning with the Nigeria Visa Policy 2020.

This initiative aims to simplify visa procedures, attract foreign investments, and bolster tourism. Nandap highlighted the crucial role of robust internal controls and monitoring mechanisms to oversee the activities of foreigners in Nigeria.

Additionally, she stressed the comprehensive implementation of the e-Border Project, including the installation of e-gates at Lagos and Abuja international airports, and the integration of advanced passenger information systems to enhance border security.

Nandap urged increased participation in Security Council Meetings at State and Local Government levels, and encouraged heads of formations to prioritize the automation of passport application processes.

She also called for active involvement in a nationwide awareness campaign against irregular migration, while emphasizing the importance of continuous capacity building for all service personnel.
