Nigeria has slashed its visa on arrival fees to boost tourism and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), according to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
he reduction follows advocacy efforts led by Ambassador Ikechi Uko, Akwaaba African Travel Market organizer. Uko had raised concerns about high visa fees and difficulties obtaining visas for delegates from East Africa, prompting swift government action.
The new visa measures will benefit all African visitors, not just those attending Uko’s event. Uko praised the government’s responsiveness, noting that the first delegates are already arriving under the new system.
