Just three months after the Eiffel Tower Staff engaged in a strike to protest against alleged mismanagement of the monument, the Tower has decided to implementing revised ticket prices for visitors Starting June 17.
An adult ticket, inclusive of elevator access to the top, will now cost €35.30 ($38.40), representing an increase from €29.40 ($31.98). Similarly, children’s tickets will see a hike from €18.80 ($20.45) to €22.60 ($24.58), while stair access tickets will rise from €11.80 ($12.84) to €14.20 ($15.45).
However, children under 4 years old will continue to enjoy free admission.
The price adjustments are attributed to the adverse impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to a significant decline in visitor numbers from 2020 to 2022, causing the Eiffel Tower to incur losses amounting to €113 million ($1.23 million).
These revisions coincide with Paris’s preparations to host the Summer Olympics, with the tower slated for closure during the opening ceremony on July 26.
As one of the world’s most visited landmarks, attracting nearly 7 million visitors annually, the Eiffel Tower remains a symbol of Parisian culture and architectural prowess.
