A Lagos resident, Sulton Hamzat, has shared his experience with Dana Air after the airline allegedly withheld his N131,544 refund following a canceled round-trip flight from Lagos to Abuja.
Hamzat reported that he booked his flight with Dana Air on April 16, intending to fly to Abuja on April 30 and return to Lagos the same day.

However, on April 25, the airline informed him that the flight was canceled due to a suspension imposed by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
The following day, Dana Air contacted Hamzat, requesting his booking reference code, a valid ID, and account details to process his refund. Despite complying with these instructions and sending the required information on June 3, Hamzat claims he has yet to receive his money.
Over the past months, Hamzat has repeatedly reached out to Dana Air through phone calls and emails but has received only acknowledgments without a clear timeline for the refund.
In a challenging economic climate, Hamzat emphasizes that N131,544 is a significant sum and urges the airline to return his money, which has been pending for nearly four months.
Attempts to obtain a response from Dana Air through email and WhatsApp were unsuccessful as of the time of reporting.
This incident underscores the ongoing concerns about customer service and refund practices in Nigeria’s aviation sector, potentially impacting travelers’ trust in local airlines.
