Air Peace’s economy class seats to London are fully booked for the next 60 days, with the airline’s Chief Operating Officer, Toyin Olajide, attributing the success to Nigerians’ appreciation for the alternative choice on the lucrative route.
Air Peace’s entrance into the Lagos-London route three months ago has been met with commendation from Nigerian travellers, including travel agent companies. The airline’s COO, Toyin Olajide, revealed that the economy class seats are fully booked till August, with only a few seats available in the business and first-class categories.
“We thank Nigerians. We appreciate the fact that they are happy with the airline… We recently upgraded two passengers who flew from the US to London and used our flight to Lagos. We upgraded them from economy class to business class in appreciation of their commitment and desire to patronise us,” Olajide said.
Travel agents and passengers on the Lagos-London route have lauded Air Peace’s performance, citing its affordability and generous commission structure. “The entrance of Air Peace into this market has not only increased accessibility but also diversified the passenger base… This influx has resulted in a 5 to 15 percent increase in passengers,” said Shalom Asuquo, Managing Director of Travel Lab Nigeria Limited.

Bedo Eziefule, Programme Director of the Centre for the Right to Health, Nigeria, noted that Air Peace has reduced airfares on the Lagos-London route, making it more affordable for Nigerians. “The success recorded by Air Peace so far will encourage other Nigerian airlines to join international service… This will help us bring the fares down and also improve the service offered to Nigerians,” he said.
