Nigeria’s federal government is adopting the principle of reciprocity in granting visas to foreigners, according to Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
The move aims to treat foreigners seeking Nigerian visas the same as Nigerians are treated in their respective countries.
Tunji-Ojo stressed that the credibility of a government’s performance is based on how it handles the weakest in society. He emphasized that the responsibility of transitioning from one’s current situation to another should be placed on the Nigerian’s doorstep.
The government is working on establishing reciprocity in travel policy, ensuring that any country that does not grant a Visa-on-Arrival cannot have one.
