The Badagry Diaspora Festival, organized by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) and African Renaissance Foundation (AREFO), is a cultural and historical event in Nigeria aimed at uniting disconnected families across the Atlantic.
The festival, which began in 2017 but was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will take place from October 19-21 in Badagry Lagos, symbolizing the joy of returning to the motherland and reuniting enslaved brothers and sisters.
The Lagos State Government, led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is commended for its support. The event includes visits to historical sites, theatrical performances, and unique cultural performances.
