Who is a Digital Nomad?

As a digital nomad myself, I pride myself in finance, freedom and lifestyle which is basically what many people crave as a remote worker or digital nomad or even as a 9-5 worker or self-employed..

A digital nomad is a person that is location independent, who works remotely using their laptops, smart phones and any devices suitable to get their work done with access to good internet connectivity, working in coffee bars, coWorking spaces, or on the comfort of their couches.

Namibia Digital Nomad Visa

Namibia now offers six-month Digital Nomad Visas which would allow foreign nationals to live, work and travel untroubled in the country. An initiative launched by the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB), seeks to increase of economic activities in the country by creating a propitious environment for foreign remote workers, also called digital nomads.

Applicants, via six-month bank statements, will need to prove they are able to sustain themselves and their dependents – US$2,000 for the applicant, US$1,000 for an accompanying spouse, US$500 per accompanying child per month. Applicants should also have valid travel documents, health insurance and/or travel insurance. The visa notification should be received within 2 weeks of application, if all goes well. The visa fee of US$62 (N$1,100) is to be paid on arrival.
