Mauritius reopened its airport after a 24-hour closure due to a tropical cyclone.

The island’s SSR international airport was closed and flights cancelled on Monday, but operations resumed on Tuesday morning after cyclone warnings were lifted. 

Air Mauritius confirmed cancelled flights had been rescheduled, and a Heathrow service was moved to Wednesday. 

The UK Foreign Office reported a cyclone expected to land in Madagascar on Tuesday, with authorities issuing a danger warning for coastal districts and inland regions.
