The management of TAAG Angola Airlines has emphasized the significance of the Nigerian travel market to its growth, citing its resilience and excitement.
The airline has announced plans to deploy Airbus aircraft series to the Nigerian route, replacing the current Boeing 777 aircraft. According to Mr. George Mawadri, Director of Sales, Africa, TAAG Angola, “We have identified Nigeria’s robust travel industry as a critical investment opportunity.”
“We will respond positively to the Nigerian market with the deployment of brand-new Airbus series aircraft to replace the current B777 wide-bodied aircraft on the Lagos-Luanda route and other established routes like Madrid, Lisbon, Sao Paulo, and London,” Mawadri added.
Mawadri also addressed concerns about refund requests, stating, “We are working hard to respond to the expectations and travel plans of our customers.”
“We take refund requests seriously and have a high score in meeting the refund expectations of trade professionals,” he said.
Olushola Olajide, Sales Manager, Nigeria, TAAG Angola Airlines, encouraged trade professionals to take advantage of the airline’s seamless connectivity to emerging tourism destinations.
He highlighted the cultural similarities between Luanda and Lagos, noting, “Luanda shares the same rich, vibrant multi-African culture with Lagos.”
“There is a big Nigerian community in Luanda, good affordable hotels and restaurants, and clean beaches stretching into miles of gregarious excitement and surrealism,” Olajide added.
Mrs. Gloria Atumu, General Manager, TAAG Angola Airlines, expressed gratitude to the trade professionals and the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA) for their support.

“The large turnout of trade consultants is indicative of the acceptance and availability of the airline to meet the needs of passengers and travel professionals,” she said.
Over 150 trade professionals attended the Lagos forum, with others joining online from other states in Nigeria.
