The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has paid tribute to Nigerian women working across the country’s aviation sector, praising their dedication, professionalism and quiet resilience.
In a video message to celebrate the International Women’s Day (IWD), Olubunmi Kuku, Chief Executive Officer of FAAN, celebrated women who contribute daily to the safe and efficient running of Nigeria’s airports.
She described their efforts as essential to aviation operations, noting that many of them work behind the scenes to ensure passengers travel safely and comfortably.
“Across Nigeria’s airports, women serve in numerous critical roles from airside operations and security to administration, engineering and customer service. Their contributions often go unnoticed despite being central to the success of the aviation system.”
Empowerment
The FAAN managing director emphasized that every safe take-off and landing is supported by teams of professionals, including many women whose commitment keeps airport operations running smoothly.
The tribute forms part of wider celebrations recognising women’s achievements and their role in shaping Nigeria’s future.
