Ghana is set to welcome its first NH Collection hotel after global hospitality giant Minor Hotels signed a landmark agreement to open a 200-room property in central Accra by 2030 marking the brand’s historic entry into West Africa.
The Deal
Minor Hotels has confirmed the signing of NH Collection Accra with developer Swami India Ghana Limited a diversified real estate group with a strong track record across West Africa and the Middle East. The agreement was signed during THINC Middle East 2026, underscoring Minor Hotels’ expansion strategy across gateway cities in Africa.
The 200-key hotel will form part of a modern mixed-use development in the heart of Accra, featuring hotel, retail, and office components positioned near Jubilee House and within close reach of Kotoka International Airport.
Why Accra?
Accra’s tourism sector has seen rapid growth as the city becomes an increasingly important destination for both business and leisure travellers in West Africa, driven by infrastructure improvements and expanding corporate presence.

A Broader African Push
Alongside NH Collection Accra, Minor Hotels has also signed the NH Collection Pemba Island Resort in Tanzania’s Zanzibar archipelago also set for 2030 adding to the already operational NH Johannesburg Sandton and consolidating the group’s commitment to Africa’s most promising markets.
Minor Hotels currently operates more than 640 properties in 59 countries.
