A Transnusa Airlines ground crew member fell from the main boarding door at Jakarta Soekarno–Hatta International Airport on May 13.

The ground agent was discussing departure paperwork when ground handlers, possibly Jasa Angkasa Semesta (JAS), removed the stairs early.

The individual, who was not seriously injured, was treated in a local hospital for broken bones.

Miscommunication between the flight coordinator and the passenger boarding stairs officer from JAS led to the FC not being informed about the stairs’ removal.

The incident has gone viral, raising concerns about ground crew practices and the injured individual. Flightradar24 data shows the flight was delayed 50 minutes after the incident.
