The House of Representatives Committee on Interior has pledged to investigate irregularities in passport issuance and resident permit usage, following petitions and complaints from Nigerians.
Chairman Ahmed Abdullahi and Vice Chairman Ganiyu Adele announced the investigation during an interactive session with IRIS Smart Technology and Continental Transfer Technique in Abuja.
The committee aims to identify shortcomings and implement necessary reforms to improve the system, ensuring fair and timely treatment for citizens and residents.
The committee has requested the true agreement, terms of understanding, or contract signed with the Federal Government to improve services conforming to international best practices.
The committee will investigate the expatriate quota as part of its statutory mandate.
