A Cessna training aircraft collided with a passenger plane carrying 44 people above Nairobi, killing a flight student and his trainer.
The plane, from local airline Safarilink, was heading for Diani, a coastal resort town. The plane experienced a loud bang and turned back, landing at Nairobi’s Wilson Airport without casualties.
Nairobi county police commander Adamson Bugei confirmed the deaths, while Kenya’s Civil Aviation Authority confirmed the plane was a Dash 8 and investigations are ongoing.
