The Federal Government of Nigeria has published a comprehensive list of emergency contact numbers for Nigerian diplomatic missions across the Middle East to help citizens living in or travelling through the region reach authorities swiftly in case of danger.
The advisory was issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja and signed by the ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa.
It aims to ensure that Nigerians affected by the escalating conflict involving Iran, Israel and the United States can quickly contact Nigerian embassies and consulates for assistance.
“Further to established communication channels publicized by the various Nigerian missions in the Middle East region, Nigerian citizens affected by the ongoing crisis should contact the following mobile numbers in case of emergency and also ensure that they are registered with the respective embassy or consulate in their country of residence.”

Background
The 2026 Middle East war erupted after US and Israeli forces launched strikes on Iran in late February, targeting military installations in Tehran. Iran responded with missile and drone attacks across the Gulf, striking the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain in an operation now entering its second week.

What Nigerians Should Do
The government is urging Nigerians in the region to remain calm, follow local authority directives, stay in contact with the nearest Nigerian mission, and await official instructions before making any movement particularly in areas where security conditions remain uncertain. Contingency plans, including possible evacuation measures, are being coordinated.
NiDCOM Chairman Abike Dabiri-Erewa has urged citizens to save the numbers and follow official channels for updates on evacuation procedures and travel advisories.
