Senegal’s Transair is resuming scheduled flight operations after a nine-month suspension.
This move restores a key source of affordable regional air connectivity across West Afric.
The airline returns to its domestic and international route network from Blaise Diagne International Airport in Dakar.
Ch-aviation confirmed on March 5, 2026, that Transair Senegal is set to resume operations following a nine-month pause one of the longest operational suspensions for a West African carrier outside of full liquidation proceedings.

Currently Transair operates Boeing 737 and Embraer ERJ aircraft, with active services covering routes in three countries: Senegal, Guinea, and Cape Verde.
The airline currently serves over 60 weekly flights at full capacity approximately 40 domestic and 20 international connecting Dakar to destinations including Ziguinchor, Cap Skirring, Kolda, Banjul (Gambia), Conakry (Guinea), Freetown (Sierra Leone), and Bissau (Guinea-Bissau).
Importance
Founded in 2010 by Alioune Fall, Transair pitches to both scheduled and charter markets with a particular focus on tourism, operating in the middle ground between Air Senegal’s long-haul ambitions and smaller charter operators.
Transair’s return to service comes as Dakar prepares to benefit from significant new international connectivity, including Air Transat’s Montreal–Dakar launch from June 17, 2026, which will be the only nonstop link between Canada and Sub-Saharan Africa.
