Zimbabwe is gearing up for a major boost in business travel and tourism as the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair 2026 records strong exhibitor growth and increased airline interest.
The 66th edition of the event will take place in Bulawayo from April 20 to 25, bringing together companies, investors, and government representatives from across Africa and beyond.
Record Exhibitor Participation
Organisers have confirmed about 520 exhibitors for the 2026 edition, up from 486 in 2025.
Notably, 72 companies will be participating for the first time, reflecting renewed confidence in Zimbabwe as a business and travel destination.
International participation is also rising, with over 33 exhibitors from 16 countries expected to attend, nearly doubling last year’s foreign presence.
Support Travel Demand
To accommodate the surge in visitors, organisers are working with airlines including Air Zimbabwe, Fastjet, and Ethiopian Airlines to increase flight frequencies.
These enhanced flight links are expected to:
- Improve access to Bulawayo
- Support business travel logistics
- Encourage wider regional participation

Trade and Tourism
Running under the theme Connected Economies Competitive Industries, the fair remains one of the largest multi sector trade events in sub Saharan Africa.
It serves as a key platform for:
- Trade and investment promotion
- Business networking
- Regional economic integration
Industry observers say the growth in participation aligns with broader continental efforts to boost intra African trade under frameworks like the African Continental Free Trade Area.
Implications for Travel Sector
The event highlights rising demand for business travel within Africa.
Increased flights and large scale events like this create opportunities for:
- Corporate travel packages
- Conference tourism
- Multi destination itineraries
Zimbabwe International Trade Fair 2026 is not just a business event. It is a signal of renewed momentum.
With record exhibitor numbers and stronger air connectivity, Bulawayo is set to become a hub for trade, travel, and tourism activity.
In Africas evolving travel economy, events like this are doing more than filling halls.
They are moving markets.
