Abuja’s infrastructure gets a N1 billion boost as Speaker Tajudeen launches Mabushi Bus Terminal project.
In a bid to address Abuja’s rapid expansion, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has lauded the Mabushi Bus Terminal project as a significant step towards enhancing the city’s infrastructure and economic mobility.
The project, valued at over N1 billion, aims to provide a modern transportation hub with state-of-the-art facilities and security features. Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Tajudeen emphasized the importance of equipping the Federal Capital Territory with modern infrastructure to support its key role.
“The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is strategically important as the capital city of Nigeria, and we must equip it with modern infrastructure to support its key role,” Tajudeen said.
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike lamented the absence of essential infrastructure in Abuja, hindering its development into a world-class city. He noted that the lack of bus and taxi terminals has contributed to insecurity issues like “one-chance” robberies.
“Leadership involves making tough decisions, and the ministry will prioritize the Mabushi terminal while resolving issues with the Central Business District location,” Wike said.

The terminal is expected to stimulate the local economy, create employment opportunities, and provide a safe and secure environment for passengers and staff.
