The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has signed agreements with Suburban Broadband Limited and Akida Hills Limited to develop Jabi Lake into a top-tier recreational and leisure hub in the heart of Abuja, Nigeria.
The project is part of the FCTA’s plan to boost tourism, stimulate economic growth, and modernize urban infrastructure across the Federal Capital Territory.
At the signing ceremony, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike highlighted Abuja’s growth as a city with huge tourism and recreational potential.
He warned that land speculation had slowed development in the past, but this era is over.
“Anyone who has applied for land for development must start construction within six months, or the allocation will be revoked,” Wike said.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to urban renewal, transparent governance, and proper land management.
Project partners outlined their plans and vision for the hub.
Pankaj Khandelwal of Suburban Broadband Limited described the project as a landmark investment that will create jobs and drive economic growth in Abuja.
Bamisile Olukayode of Akida Hills Limited praised the Minister’s leadership and said the hub will rival global attractions like Times Square in New York and the Dubai Fountain Water Show.
He confirmed that the project would turn Abuja into a global tourist destination and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
