Jill Lever, the British Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, has released a personal video message urging Nigerians to make early and correct visa applications ahead of the holiday season.
In her message, Lever emphasized, “We are encouraging everyone making plans for a UK holiday or to study in the UK to apply early for their visa to avoid delays.”
She noted that visit visas are currently taking between 3 to 5 weeks to process, from submission to receiving a response from the UK visa team. Student visas, due to high demand, may also take between 3 to 5 weeks.
For urgent travel, Lever recommended using the priority or super priority services available. She stressed the importance of timely applications via the UK visa website to ensure a smooth process.
